Looks like he’s been studying Tai Kwon Do; they favour those torso-turning kicks. You get a LITTLE more power and reach, but I agree with Jimmy; the trade-off of literally turning your back to your opponent isn’t worth the slight boost.
More to the point, all the scenes in the dojo indicated to me that Robin’s been taking Japanese based martial arts, not Korean.
I think we should take this as the artist being less of a martial arts nerd than we two, and call it a day. 😛
Robin, I get you’re a novice, but that’s not a good idea, you should keep upright when kicking, no matter how high.
