EOiNA 12 — The House of Chiron
And… new comics start up! I’ve got a considerable buffer so things will be progressing on weekly for a while. Miranda seems quite intent on teaching them their lessons, and she’s not about to take any of Jason’s guff!
I want to thank all of our Patreon supporters, without them this would not have been able happen! There’s a new silly comic up on the Patreon page for supporters.
Heh! At last, the real games begin! Chiron, the great centaur and the nurturer of youth, and the equal on boy and arrow to Apollo himself. Was she a centaur when things got strange, or was her changes based on her being a centaur at the time?
It seems West was wrong, the gods themselves WOULD and CAN use true reality altering magic. Then again, from Loki’s chat earlier, it’s doubtful she ever MET ONE so her explanation was likely hearsay. Or that seems to be the case.
Was West still the Wotch in this revised reality, or was there ever a need for a Wotch?
I know I said this before, but I still hope for a ‘Bad End’ of sorts, or depending on how Annie ‘fixes’ things, which creates a second universe where these revisions are the natural state of the universe. After all, that’s the thing about reality magic, each universe that’s remade and reborn has much right to exist as the one before it or after it.
So, the mystery is on as to what has happened to Miranda and why she doesn’t remember teaching magic to Anne.
Either she’s been brainwashed, TF and brainwashed, or reality has been revised so she never taught Anne magic to begin with, though that leaves the question on why Anne and co are the same. Unless it’s a heavily modified version of the Mythos virus, that alters people’s memories and the local reality at the same time.
Maybe Miranda somehow found a set of cursed armor.
Maybe Miranda has split personalities that correspond to what form She is in
What’s interesting isn’t so much how West has changed, but how she HASN’T changed, she’s still a no-nonsense teacher and a brutal example of ‘good is not nice’.
I’ve got to say, this style fits the strip a lot better…
Indeed, I would it give me the little bit of nostalgic feeling for the comic was back in the day while still having a breath of fresh air from the new artist.
If i could give it 3 tumbs up I would but sadly human anatomy only gave up 2.
Assuming that it’s a reality change, were Robin and Jason insulated from memory alteration because of their proximity to Anne?
We can hope it’s something cool like that. Or the transformation simply hasn’t caught with them yet.
On another note, I’m happy to see a return to something much closer to the original style.
Love Robin staring at Miranda’s butt in the last panel.
He was a centaur once himself. So maybe he doesn’t think of one as ‘outside his species’ unconsciously.
So, this is the actual storyline then?
Sure seems that way!
The original style was crude in places but had its charm—and humor, this style is more what the original was aiming for and more consistent. It is a lot better for the tone of the comic than a near “realistic” style.
When will the next update be?
Updates will be Mondays, 3 times a month. We’re working on having a bonus comic on the 4th week, but we’re still looking for an artist… and script.
what happen to your links
A while back we had a server crash and had to recreate the site from scratch. I haven’t gotten the chance to recreate the links page, though many comics on that page have gone away. I should recreate one that’s a bit more current, but I can’t promise when that’ll happen.
Yes the story continues. Although it was interesting seeing Anne and the guys with the more “Life-like” look like they were in College. I like the ‘Original Style’ the best. Also I think I prefer Anne in the skirt rather than tight jeans. She’s Cuter. 🙂
I’m going to love this next ark.
Hey, can I have permission to have Miranda have a cameo in my current comic arc, mostly based on her centaur appearance in this pic: http://www.thewotch.com/Images/centaur_downs.jpg
My story involves centaur racing, and Miranda looks so cute like that. 😛
Glad to see the strip back! 7@=e
Woo! Nice to see it running again. 🙂
— Roll For Initiative —
While strange to tell and slow to start,
The Wotch moves on, with altered art.
A story arc, where seconds passed.
Seemed like years, is back at last.
As Jason’s hit, with stick to brain,
Our heroes three, are tasked to train.
Swinging staves, dodge, parry, defect.
Their centaur tutor, commands respect.
Yet something’s off. Not quite right.
Hooves aside, she’s more uptight.
Miranda’s mind, is askew for sure.
Wotch fans wait, tuned in for more.

I think what warhorse West meant to say was “remiss”, not “remedial”.
