Okay, no way that’s Sonja just having finished her transformation, the design isn’t right. Also, the gods are trying to recreate the good old days, it’s INSANE that they’d create such an over the top taboo on magic! It doesn’t fit the setting they’re trying to create all! In particular that 99% of these beings are magical!
So who are Sonja and Robyn supposed to become reincarnations of? And again, it makes little sense if Anne can’t undo the charms on the others, but could undo the charms on her two friends.
I wonder if Anne needs to go crawling to Xaos for this, since ya know, the gods conquering chaos is typically how they shaped the world, Anne is a type disadvantage trying to counter divine power. Xaos’ magic is based on RULES, which this rewrite of the world obviously is too. they speak the same language.
Remember, though: they didn’t overload this one spell to create a taboo against magic in general. They just didn’t want Anne to find them.
based on the words of Miranda earlier, they’ve most likely been turned into incarnations of heroes. possibly Odysseus, since he had an encounter with the witch Circe… then again i think a majority of the Greek heroes ran into a witch or warlock at one point in their tales…
I could see it as them not wanting mortals to be able to undo their work.
Magical creatures might have different rules than humans when it comes to them.

Wow, Robin better be doing some growing in other areas or this will be a very painful transformation for entirely different reasons. Also, I thinking this will not be working out as well with Cassie if she is still looking for Robin when she awakens.
Yes, I imagine there might be some lower back pains involved….

At long last, Robyn returns and is more delicate and feminine than ever! I really hope we get to see some mental changes affect Robyn so that she can enjoy her new perspective as much as the other people affected by the mythology magic. On a design note, I love the robin egg blue toga she wears along with the pink sandals & clips. It gives her an extremely feminine look, much more so than her last meaningful appearance in the Dancing Queen arc.
One thing I don’t like is I think that Robyn’s breasts are simply too large for her character. As bizarre as it is to say, they look cartoonishly huge and not very attractive. Just look at the weird angle Robyn’s shoulder in panel 4 is at in order to accomodate her insane proportions. The previous artist made the same mistake, although to a much worse extent. Ian Samson had the right balance between “Robyn is very buxom” and “but not like she’s hiding basketballs in her shirt.” However, that is a minor quibble and I hope that Robyn remains this way for a very long time.
I agree on the thing with Robyn’s breasts. Kind of ruins the whole mythology setting because she looks like she has artificial implants or something, rather than “natural” beauty. I guess it’s what floats the boat of those in authority here… both in and out of story.
Now, now. Creatures with access to magic can probably achieve the same effect as people with access to cosmetic surgery.
I guess… but I doubt they’d want to, since it is the opposite of attractive, or even healthy, looking.
Loki and Hermes were trying to return to the “good old days”, so I imagine Robin and Jason are transforming into more than just their female counterparts. The fur-lined clothes suggests something Norse for Jason, while Robin has clearly become someone from Greek Mythology, perhaps Aphrodite.
“Aphrodite, is the Greek goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, and procreation. Her Roman equivalent is the goddess Venus.” This could pose unique problems for Robin.
Oh, my. You think Robin/Robyn has been lumbered with that portfolio? Awkward if it’s true….
I guess it´s a little too obvious that guys are behind this, right? 🙂

Everyone transformed so far has a role to play. If Anne’s role is that of Eris… who in their right mind would ATTACK A GOD?!
Anime and RPG Heroes don’t count.
So who might attack a god you may ask?
Perhaps proton-pack wielders are up to the task.
Maybe those busters aren’t in their right mind,

The magic that hit Robin also hit something behind him, possibly a light post and it was affected by the spell too.

Maybe it was a “Keep off the Grass” sign 😉 Presumably Cassie and Miranda also had painful transformations that resulted in their personalities being merged with iconic figures from myth and legend. This suggests some intriguing problems for Robin and Jason.
While those we’ve seen so far have become reincarnations of figures from the two different mythologies, they kept the connections they have with others.
Can’t believe this comic is only a few months younger than I am…
