Who the HECK has Robyn become the reincarnation of to transform Robyn who had become he reincarnation of a freakin’ Norse Goddess?!
Given the previous misidentification of Diana as goddess of love and the hunt, it could be her.
Or still Aphrodite; she had transformation powers, too. In one myth, she turned a whole crew of pirates who raided one of her temples into women.
Where is your source for this myth? I tried to look it up, but the only thing I found involved her transforming a pirate crew into dolphins.
Actually that was Dionysus.
Tat was Dionysus. god of alcohol.
Aphrodite, turned a hunter into a deer, and had his hounds tear him apart.
Actually, that was Artemis, and it was for the crime of seeing her in the buff.
I believe Bacchus was the god of alcohol. Dionysus of loose behavior in general.
Dionysus (Greek) = Bacchus (Roman)
Artemis (Greek) = Diana (Roman) (turned Actaeon into a deer for seeing her nude)
Aphrodite (Greek) = Venus (Roman) (no transformation myths I’m aware of)
I’ve been looking all over, but I can’t find it anymore. I know I read it once, but now …. My regret. 😐
Artemis was the goddess who turned a hunter into a deer. She wasn’t big on mortals seeing her bathing 😛
Mortal men, anyway.
Circe?
If Loki and Hermes brought out Circe, ancient goddess and witch extraordinaire, they really shot themselves in the foot! :p
I’m guessing Artemis. Deer would suggest what happened to Acteon.
I think that’s a goat.
It would probably be more obvious if she had the slitty eyes… 7@=e
Yeah I noticed the horns later. Still could be Artemis
Mixing magic? This can’t end well…
Was Circe a Wotch? Or was she too early for that? Or are all the Wotches accounted for?
Seriously, Anne needs to learn to not address people who transformed into other people with the names they had prior to transformation, especially if she knows they may not recognize her or their old selves.
She has to get to know these people, and then try to figure out a solution. Her friends can come back later on, and if she gets to know these new people, there can even be a “I know we´re friends, but this is not my world. Gtg, bye.” part with tears and stuff.
Well right now she has no evidence that Robin doesn’t know who she is, or that Robin didn’t tap into her powers by accident.
It would make for a better story if Robin’s previous incarnation ultimately decides, at the end of the arc, to give Robin his life back, showing to Hermes and Loki that even their own family doesn’t want this. Of course, Hermes and Loki have every reason to do this from their point of view. Loki wants to make up for foolishly and spitefully bringing about the end of his entire family. And Hermes wants to give his family a second chance after they GAVE UP ON EVERYTHING.
Ya dun got goated, son!
I am going with Circe. she transformed men
Into swine, specifically.
— Oh Deer! What have you Goat’n us into? —
With a swing of her sword,
Freya swipes at her foe.
But this attack is ignored,
Jason’s die roll was low.
It’s Robin’s turn next,
His character says “No!”
Freya’s instantly hexed,
And turns into to a doe.
The Wotch watches on,
Anne’s mouth all agape.
Surprised by the fawn,
Shocked by her escape.
The Game Master smiles,
At the strange turn of events.
And can’t wait for the trials,
This new module presents.
🙂
She may want to grab that sword now as it looks like she is having to maintain that spell.
Well, I think Thor could always use another member for his chariot team… 7@=Q
So Robyn is just kidding Jason?
I bet it is Goddess Circe. I am wondering, can Robin control her, or will Circe take over Robin?
Circe was a sorceress, not a goddess. The gods delayed Odyssey’s return to Ithaca but did not interact with him directly, as I recall. He had to overcome many obstacles–Scylla, Charybdis, Polyphemus, the sirens, etc.–besides Circe.
Circe was a sorceress in the Odyssee, yes, but she was probably based on an old cthonian goddess.
It could be that she’s choosing to help Anne, rather than attack her as Hermes and Loki thought she would. Or they don’t actually control who becomes a reincarnation of who, but instead whoever they’d be ‘destine’ to be the reincarnation of.
ROBIN GET MAGIC! YAAAAA. wait. is robin Circe?
