EOiNA: Resistance is Futile

Though it seems Robin did a pretty good job holding her back, he wasn’t able to keep it up forever. At least Anne’s not being chased by the crazy Freya… yet.

Interesting that Aphrodite is aware that she reincarnated as Robin, since she is obviously aware. So Robin became the reincarnation of the goddess of love? I wonder if Robin acting OUT of love is why she held on as long as she did, or Aphrodite wasn’t trying too hard BECAUSE Robin was in spirit acting in her name. And is why Robin was able to use Aphrodite’s power at all.
Interesting that Freya knows who Aphrodite is since they’re from separate Pantheon. Is this due to the overlapped state of the new world the gods are trying to create? Or did they just know each other before the end?
Hermes said his family ‘just gave up’, implying they holed up somewhere once they were no longer worshipped to wait out eternity, or the committed suicide (either the fast way, or infected themselves with a terminal disease known as old age). So does Aphrodite know this? Is she happy to be among the living again? Does she APPROVE of what her brother is doing? (Since she implies she has access to Robin’s memories).
most likely all of the Reincarnates have access to the memories of the bodies they now inhabit (or at least the God class ones do), they just don’t care enough to look, Robin was noticed because he resisted her control to help Anne.
I keep imagining that whatever Anne does to restore things before Hermes and Loki started this, ends up creating a second separate timeline where this becomes reality’s natural state. (And this being their real plan all along, knowing that even when Anne beats them, she ends up creating a reality where they get what they want. A world where their families are alive and mortal give them their proper due.)
Logical, most logical!
Since Freya reincarnated as Sonja, I wonder if she’ll find comics as an interesting distraction.
It’s a pity she wasn’t turned into the reincarnation of Sif, then Larry could have become the reincarnation of Thor.
Would Aphrodite really allowed Freya to attack Anne?
You…. haven’t read much of the unredacted mythology, have you? ^^; Aphrodite was one of the sponsors of the Trojan War, among other things.
Considering she was the one who gave Paris Helena, I would say the most important one.
She did worse. She gave the little sod carte blanche, promising him the love of the most beautiful human woman alive, then let him decide who that was.
Adding one little qualifier, “unmarried”, would have prevented so much suffering and bloodshed. But either she was too vapid to care or too dead-set on beating out Hera and Athena to put a limit on her bribe.
Meant unprovoked.
Aphrodite favors handsome men and ladies trying to land themselves a handsome man. Freya is a lady trying to get her sexifying amulet back so she can land herself handsome men. Why in a million years would she side with Anne?
Aphrodite is about herself, love, and beauty.
What qualifies as love is up to her, and she has a…not so good record when it comes to those she’s been involved with.
She’s an adulterer for one, started the Trojan War when she didn’t have to, etc. Her love stories don’t always include “happily ever after.”
Well, now we know for certain: Robin got morphed into Aphrodite.
….
And Jason got morphed into Freja. Two goddesses of love.
Hmmm. I wonder whether their shared portfolio has any significance….?
Goodbye, Robin. We’ll get you back somehow.
Anne had better look and see if she has any allies left that those two divine jerks haven’t overwritten.
Possibly Milo’s apparently-total immunity to transformation will mean that he is left unchanged?
Ivan and his friends maybe?
They’re unknown unknowns to (to my knowledge) everyone except them, Miranda, and Arizona.
A note to any would-be possessors:
You do not want to be inside my head. Unless you’re into some really strange stuff. In that case please stay out anyway. Unless you’re willing to pay rent.
— Brave Dame Anne, Ran Away! —
They say that possession is nine tenths of the law,
Whether this also applies to the gods, Iām unsure.
Robin clung to his thoughts, for as long as he could,
Giving Anne time to flee, from these girls of godhood.
In one mind with the goddess, mortal Robin did wrestle,
But in the end Aphrodite, gained control of her vessel.
Freya stood upright again, on two feet and not four,
While The Wotch ran away, and was seen nevermore.

Given how things work that we’ve seen so far. Does this mean that the oracle and Aphrodite now have a crush on each other?
And I wonder if a certain comic book geek is now going to become “Freyja”‘s newest worshipper.
ALSO! I have an important question to the web comic creators themselves. Since the Juju incident except for the last panel were declared “canon”, and Milo is immune to seemingly every magic we’ve seen… Does this mean Milo is AWARE that reality got majorly retrofitted several times over (including ceasing to exist for a few-seconds go a logic paradox between Anne and West’s science incarnations)? And just didn’t feel like sharing the crazy experience with the others? Or WAS Milo affected by the Juju since it wasn’t affect HIM directly, but the fundamentals of reality?
Is Milo immune to these changes here? Or does the divine might of two gods trump Milo’s immunity? (Or would it cheat too many basic laws of magic for Milo to be affected?)
