Eh, not the first time the Wotch community has experienced a lost of information. Atleast it isn’t as massive as the three… four…. forum resets in the past? Atleast it sounds comments made in the past will be kept, just not the new ones we’re making now š
So, the new host seems to be having an issue with this install of WordPress. I’m not sure if it’s because they’re on an older version or that they require certain plugins to work properly. If i’m not able to get the site working soon the move will be off and I’ll be searching for a new host.
I have a small TG-friendly hosting company, Robin. Un fortunately, we are in the middle of moving our servers to a new colo but if this is not solved by mid October, login to my website below and ask Erin or Piper about it.
I was her for the first iteration, of The Wotch. I was part of the crossover. Login name was msfrost, my character name in the crossover was Frostfire!
Iām officially declaring The Wotch to be dead. Not only has it been five months since the last new comic, but the meandering pace and infrequent release schedule means this one arc has been going on for five years as of Thursday. Anne & Robin should have allowed the comic to have the dignity of an end after Ian left as artist rather than drag out to this non-conclusion.
I don’t mean to curb your enthusiasm but to expect any kind of feed back from the Wotch staff is like trying to squeeze water from a stone you’re not going to get any.
Basically all I can say is just check once in a while but keep your expectations low like 6 feet under low if you catch my drift .
I’m sorry to say but I’m sceptical about this long away time.
I’ve been following this coming since its early days and the 1st major down time ended up with it returning with something about Anne not wanting to do the comic any more ( I think I heard something about depression or whatnot but don’t quote me on this ) .
When it came back it was only Robin some artist hired to fill in Anne’s place. Don’t get me wrong the story in some area’s was good but it never was as good as when Anne was doing it.
Now we have a 2nd long hiatus and this worries my that it will either be the end of the comic and its not coming back or when it does return the quality will take an even bigger nose dive.
I hope I’m just being paranoid but this comic past history is not dissuading me for this conclusion and the more time that passes with no update the more I believe I might be right I’m afraid.
It could be any number of things from Real Life Interfering to building a buffer before going online, to… well, you get the idea. I’m sure one of those things, however, is NOT “mess with the fans”.
I’m not sorry at all, but this is straight up criminal incompetence. I’ve done server/host and domain moves for a living, and it takes 14-27 hrs tops. Usually a LOT less, especially on any US or EU based server. You should have been up and running on the new domain host within hours, and dns propagated within a day, at most. You’re just lazy.
i am concerned that with the site being down so long. and no official word or weekly posting that some has gone terribly wrong and that this site may lose readership
Well, it went down for years and we returned. I’m not that worried about the readership, but I AM worried about something having gone wrong. I hope everyone in the team is fine.
I suspect it’s been “back-burnered” in the way that sometimes happens to projects when the creators have real-life concerns (job, school, starting a family) that take priority. Then after a while of dormancy, it’s difficult for the project to get momentum back, especially if the reason for the hiatus was not just “Life” but some frustrating situation (such as a server move falling through) that caused them to “step back and take a breath”. But that frustration is the first thing they must address to start back up, and that can cause some people to subconsciously avoid getting back to it.
I’m not concerned about their losing readership. I mean, I know I always find it again, so I assume other readers who like the Wotch will find it again also. I’m just greedy and want to see more pages!
I don’t even care if they change plot lines when they bring the comic back. I like short, simple stories about magic and guys being turned into gals as a funny thing and having to deal with that in a way that doesn’t feel like the whole world is crashing down on their shoulders, and then seeing them change back and see some humorous stuff where they have to deal with having been the opposite sex for a while and maybe even liking it.
Why did the water taste funny? What will it do to him?
It’s times like this that I wish all those billionaires would stop playing around with politics and put their money where it will do some good, like supporting comic writers and artists so they can produce free online content without having to worry about trifling expenses like family, food, shelter, clothing, medical care, education, transportation, and of course, the latest tech and software.
Still safe. I was put on furlough – which means they continue covering my health insurance, I keep hold of the company laptop, and they fully intend on bringing me back when they can. And my wife works at BJ’s, but in the bakery where she’s not in as much contact with other.
We are. Luckily, I can work from home, and talk to my friends and family on the phone or online. And also fortunately my country went on lockdown before things became serious, so odds are we will all be fine.
You know, there are some that would consider you to be completely incompetent, and generally failing to utilize basic resources that are now quite common to the average person. So I can’t tell if you are deliberately trying to milk contributions or you really do have no idea how to utilize web resources. I don’t know of anyone that still runs a web server out of their home, and from the below information, you aren’t either. Get a move on. Ha, I am very funny.
This silence has been going on for so long. I am fine with long hiatuses and if they intend to stop the comic thats fine to. But some communication would be nice.
Thanks for the encouragement. Being concerned means I have not yet given up. If you have any way to contact the creative team, please let them know they still have readers who will enjoy anything they decide to share, and that we wish them the best and hope they can sort out whatever problems they’re dealing with.
Here in the Philly area, we’re slowly emerging from the pandemic. On the Red-Yellow-Green scale being used in Pennsylvania, we went from Red to Yellow about two weeks ago and are going to Green on Friday (6/26). New Jersey is a bit ahead of us, so we’re heading down the shore (“down the shore” is an actual Philly phrase), and spend the day in Ocean City (NJ) walking the boardwalk and enjoying the beach.
I’m used to being ephemeral. Have a good move
Eh, not the first time the Wotch community has experienced a lost of information. Atleast it isn’t as massive as the three… four…. forum resets in the past? Atleast it sounds comments made in the past will be kept, just not the new ones we’re making now š
I hope everything goes smoothly! See you on the next server!
Good luck, I know what it’s like to move servers! I’m sure you’ll do better than I did.
so where’s the new site? I’m not against it, just curious.
So, the new host seems to be having an issue with this install of WordPress. I’m not sure if it’s because they’re on an older version or that they require certain plugins to work properly. If i’m not able to get the site working soon the move will be off and I’ll be searching for a new host.

I have found an elegant proof that P = NP, but this comment field is too small to contain it.
Then it’s not elegant enough. š
… Well played.
That’s okay. The rest of us will get it worked out. In about 350 years. No big deal.
P=NP=MLP
I’ve been “here” since 2004 (Or 2002; it may have been 2002.) Anyway, any place The Wotch is will be “here”.
I await the change with unbated breath. š
You’ll never catch largemouth bass that way.
Baited hook, unbated breath. Don’t bait the unbated, lest unabated puns be unleashed.
All the bass I’ve smooched would disagree.
All your bass are belong to us. š
(it had to be said)
I was her for the first iteration, of The Wotch. I was part of the crossover. Login name was msfrost, my character name in the crossover was Frostfire!
Will any of the other bonus/guest/special stories be added to the site? I personally liked Ian’s “Juju” comic…
Hope the move is going well!
I hope so too. There seem to have been several complications. I hope everything’s sorted out soon.
any updates
Aargh! December, and no site in sight!

Any idea when the web host will be ready? Just curious.
a progress report would appricated
And gratefully received. I like this webcomic.
How about the Wotch reforming criminals.
happy new year to all the wotchers.
How long does it take to transfer a server host? It’s been 4 months.

Technical difficulties. Or the computer gods must be placated.
So…
Any crack pairings of Wotch characters out there?
It could be any number of things from Real Life Interfering to building a buffer before going online, to… well, you get the idea. I’m sure one of those things, however, is NOT “mess with the fans”.
I hope everything’s going well with the team aside from the server issues, which I also hope they can sort out soon.

Would be nice if someone, I dunno, said that…
If that’s the case, I hope they can get back on track soon. It would be great to see this comic up and running again!
I will come back to this site for the next 30 years. As long as the website URL clears I will return.
I’m not concerned about their losing readership. I mean, I know I always find it again, so I assume other readers who like the Wotch will find it again also. I’m just greedy and want to see more pages!

Another month, another lack of any update on what’s happening.
still nothing?
Apparently not.
I hope everyone is OK. We readers are still here.

with how often this series goes on hiatus the fact the story has nose dived when it does update the lack of comunication
i think its safe to say they have lost all interest in this project
To be fair, The Wotch has always been… challenged on story. Every chapter boils down to “men turn into women and love it” after all.
Its been beating a dead horse for a while. It doesn’t take this long to move servers. Couple days tops.
They could at least let us know if that were the case.

We on a hunger strike till they come back

still nothing. i am concerned
So am I. I still check every now and then to see if there’s any news, but with no way to contact the authors, we can’t tell what’s going on.
Through a FOAF I know that things are… well, don’t give up hope QUITE yet.

Hey, I hope you guys are doing alright during these trying times!
Just posting to say I’m still here and I hope everything goes well on your side. See you someday, hopefully.

Hey, anybody know what happened to the 910Comix forums? They’ve been down since June 10th.
A week before Christmas and we have a Vaccine. (Yay) Still waiting to see Anne & Company back again.
