Um . . . Anne. You weren’t going to do anything to help Mingmei or the cheerleaders. If it weren’t for Miranda, they’d’ve been homeless and wondering why their families don’t know who they are. Stop trying to lecture other people on their failings, this is the second time this story where you’ve been a hypocrite this way.
Except that Ming only had a place to live because Katie ran into and basically adopted her (so Miranda didn’t really help there), and Anne would have reverted the cheer squad, if Robin hadn’t “accidentally” neglected to mention their transformation.
Miranda could very well have dropped a letter of mYsTeRiOuS oRigIn into Anne’s room to give her a lead on the events of SchizophrANNEia so that Anne could clean up her own mess, but instead made it more difficult for her to realize that there was even a problem. Deliberately restricting someone’s access to information, and failing to act on info you don’t have, are not remotely the same thing.
Oh, she’s restricted her friends’ information before. Since you mentioned the emotion doppelgangers, I’m pretty sure that Robin still doesn’t know why him taking martial arts classes got him a tongue lashing from Anne. Besides, the point is that Anne’s in a massive glass house chucking bricks, and it’s been pissing me off for most of this trainwreck of a story.
Are you* quite sure about** Robin not knowing that? Also, if the story’s pissing you off so much, why are you still reading it?
* The moment when Anne figures out why she’s been weirdly pissy for several chapters. A lot of crap happens very fast between this and the next link.
** Anne tells Robin and Jason she’ll explain how/why Anger got out, which necessitates explaining about Feminine Pride.
Miranda still has to answer for what she did to three innocent people forcing a gender change on them. Remember the reporter guy Ivan now permanently girl? Chances are she created a super villain out of her. Or someone with a grudge who now has a reason to expose everyone who ever was invloved since the beginning. Personally both Miranda and Annie have a lot to answer for, but at least Annie is trying to take responsibility for her mistakes while I feel Miranda is making excuses and projecting her problems onto others. Yes Miranda may have good reasons, but the way she has gone about it has been shaky at best. I really hope we see some of the past where someone who was permanently changed like Ivan who now is forever forced into a roll she doesn’t want but must see through. Seriously I want to see how Ivan is dealing with the changes and if she is able to overcome it.
I mean, that’s technically true, but she didn’t *remember* Ming and the cheerleaders. If not for Miranda, they’d have been screwed, but Anne wouldn’t have known until, respectively, Ming remembered and Robin reminded her.

Get used to them. I’ll be very surprised if the comic updates again this month. Or the next.
At this point they’d be better off just posting a “This is what happens” ending and moving on to something else, something new. Or nothing at all.
They’re posting what they can afford to buy on commission each month.
Right now that adds up to about a page a month (the delay between the previous page and this isn’t related to the commission problem–it’s related to hosting issues that were eventually resolved in a way very different from the way Robin thought they’d resolve in September).
If you want progress, rather than just wanting to troll the “p@r\/s” who still are willing to read this comic, then donate enough to them that they can pay the 750-to-1k that the artist is asking for their work, more than once a month.
I’ll admit I’d rather they deal with a more affordable artist, but the problem is, there are more writers seeking artists than artists seeking writers. The usual solution is for the writer to *be* the artist, but of course, _that_ plan, here, led to people tearing into Anne’s work enough that she stepped back from it and even handed away dialogue duties after giving someone in the team her series bible.
And as I recall, on the CMX forum you were one of those most dedicated to said savaging.
You’re remembering wrong, given that I was banned on my original account because I angered one of the pet mods (Saria) that never did their job and often threw their weight around and deleted comments without much provocation other than she disagreed with them. Or would threaten them with being banned and often threw public tantrums to get people to stop talking about things she couldn’t argue back against.
In my case it was during Owen Hart’s murder-suicide and the related discussion about pro-wrestling. Saria had spent most of the thread openly weeping about it and saying things about how it was such a tragedy to the ‘sport’ and that she hoped that the police would catch whoever did it. There were a couple of other users in the thread that she was being combative with for not instantly agreeing with her. I came into the thread providing updated information about it from several news sites showing Owen had gone on a steroid rage and was guilty for murdering his family and then himself, and then joined the discussion about how pro-wrestling was largely scripted. Needless to say, Saria flipped out and I was then banned for the forum because she was steadfastly in the camp that Owen Hart DID NOT kill his family and himself, and that pro-wrestling was entirely real and the backstage soap operas were NOT fake. Oh, and I got a pretty gloaty PM from Thom when it happened about how I ‘picked the wrong mod to make angry’.
Nothing was ever done because she was ‘in on the ground floor’ when the Wotch was first getting started (and I believe was one of Anne and Robin’s friends and provided the basis for Lily), thus giving her immunity from ever being accused of any sort of wrongdoing.
What had I done before that? I largely posted in art forum, Drowemos, the Jimmy comic people took turns making pages for, the game forum (corrupt a wish), I posted several times in the Hurricane Katrina thread comparing the flooding of New Orleans and the lack of a federal response similar to the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami. I was also active in the Discordia subforum and Cheer! I participated in a thread talking about Steve Irwin dying and made a Bon Jovi reference and got a few ‘too soon, too soon’ responses from that. I very rarely commented in the primary Wotch forum on the comic itself when it was in active production. Whenever I did it was largely a ‘this is cool’ type comment or a random lore-checking someone in a discussion thread.
I think I maybe posted on this user name like one or twice concerning The Wotch (given it had already died at the time), largely to respond to users that were asking questions about the comic coming back and telling them about what had happened. I actually loved Anne’s art style and was sad to see her go. I had wished Tran4of3 had stayed on as the artist afterwards, but yeah, don’t sit there and blame me for something I had no part in. But no no, continue to promote your false narrative that protects the terrible mod team of a dead forum. I did nothing wrong other than make the baby mod mad and she ran to daddy and he got rid of me despite having never once broken the rules or gone after Anne, Robin or any other user.
And since we’re digging up old history to combat this attempt at revisionism… On THIS account, when I slipped back in on another email after EGS had left Keenspot and joined CMX, I stayed securely within the EGS subforum, participating in the discussion threads, lore-checking and doing some Strip-Slaying (before Dan decided he didn’t want any sort of fan takes on his work) and Corrupt A Wish games (which I got yelled at because my corruptions were too ‘dark’). But then Dan decreed there was to be NO CRITICISM of his perfect comic and perfect characters and The Old Hack went around banning anyone that dared question the holy Dan Shive and his comic. And then, years after THAT incident of unprofessional and poor moderation and forum administration, when I slid back in on another account (I don’t remember the name, but I had a Megan Fox becoming a mermaid for an avatar) right before the forums shut down, I nearly got banned again for saying ‘Umm, I think it doesn’t make a lot of sense for that to happen at this point in the story’ and The Old Hack AGAIN swooped in, threatened me with a ban and then went on a tirade patting himself on the back about how he’d gotten rid of all the ‘toxic users’…Which had more or less rendered the last active forum on CMX dead.
Dan has done the same thing on Twitter and his EGS reddit. There’s to be absolutely no criticism, however politely or constructive and well intentioned it may be, to his ‘perfect’ story and ‘perfect’ characters. All he wants is absolute praise and then has the GALL to take some minor incremental steps towards inclusion and then takes a week off because ‘I just don’t have the words you guys the response has me in tears’ because he clearly thinks he’s the next Joss Whedon circa 2009 or something.
So before you come in accusing people of doing things they DID NOT do, or especially of trolling when all I’m doing is stating FACT that YOU yourself backed up (the user above my post is more actionable than mine given I’m providing information rather than taking a dig at the slowness of the comic), maybe get your own facts straight.
No, “Contact_Lost”, I’m afraid it’s you who are looking at past events through a skewed lens.
You didn’t get banned in your original account because you angered “one of the pet mods”. You were banned because you consistently broke the rules after being talked to several times by the mods, including myself. You were given every chance until we had to take the course of last resort.
Yes, you had “wished” Ian — Tran4of3 — had stayed on as the artist. But that was after criticizing his art continually “because he wasn’t Anne” and then using him to insult the subsequent guest artists.
And yes, you “slipped in” when EGS joined 910. And were immediately noticed by the mods. In fact, it was I who talked to you, letting you know that we knew who you were and had decided (after discussing with Anne & Robin) that you should be given another chance, under the new handle, so long as you kept your nose clean. And we saw how that went.
And I love how my PM was “gloaty”. You *had* made the wrong mod mad — because you continually wouldn’t follow the rules.
Your tirade and misinterpretation of the facts here shows that you haven’t learned anything in this long time. I’m glad I give up doing the near-thankless job that I was doing because I thought I wouldn’t have to deal with small-minded delusional trolls like you.

You can say what you want to make it seem like you guys were doing a ‘good job’ and trying to twist history, but we BOTH know what went down. I NEVER spoke to you as Contact_Lost or as any of the other accounts. The only time you and I EVER interacted was on the ‘Stingra’ account, and that was ONCE. I never spoke with ANY of the mods or admins beyond that singular incident where Saria got mad and then I got banned for daring to say ‘lol, wrestling is fake’. I was never ‘talked to’ or ‘given every chance’. Nor did I EVER receive any sort of notification or have ANY communication with you when I rejoined when EGS was brought on on the Contact_Lost account.
On the Contact_Lost account the ONLY admin or mod I ever had ANY contact with was The Old Hack, and that was when Dan decreed ‘NO MORE CRITICISM’ and immediately banned or threatened to ban anyone going ‘EGS is the best comic and Dan is a god’.
I NEVER insulted Anne, Tran40f3 or ANY of the other artists on the comic because I RESPECT artists. I KNOW how hard it is to create something. Even the guy you currently have now, no, I don’t particularly enjoy his art style and I very much wish Anne WOULD come back, but I respect the hell out of him and WILL defend him when and if anyone shows up to thrash him. The ability to create art is a fantastic gift, one that I lack but would very much like to have, and I will NEVER disparage someone that can draw. Ever.
Especially artists with the amount of skill and creativity that Anne and ESPECIALLY Tran40f3 have.
But go ahead, continue to sit there and spew your lies because you’re terrified of looking bad in front of what little audience that is left. I know the truth of what happened, I have NOTHING to lose or gain by lying about it and you’re clearly either thinking of someone else, remembering incorrectly…Or just deluded.

it was humorous attempt at you being back. It was in jest. i did not want to stir the hornets nest as it where. I like the comic and and hope it continue at least on a monthly basis.

For what it’s worth, I would be willing to assay the art here. Keeping to schedules is what I do, give me a little time and I could recreate almost any style here (Darrin Brown is just not my preferred style) and if you want a resume, look at Angels and Aliens ( Littlelevers/angels )to see how I started with Appledraw and a mouse and worked up to real tools.
