Actually, going by the “noctum unum” part, the spell probably only lasts one night and doesn’t need to be explicitly cancelled.
That’s a good point.
Also, given that everyone changed back when the demon was merely transported to another dimension, it seems like good odds the death of a caster would *also* undo any long term effects they’d cast.
